When Standard Tap opened its doors in December 1999, our goal was simple: to create a neighborhood tavern that featured great beer and wholesome food. With that in mind, we offer a draft-only beer selection that highlights the vast array of styles crafted by breweries located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Our food menu both complements the beer and expands the notion of what pub food can be. We use only the best available produce, poultry, meats and seafood — much of it from area farms and local vendors – to create fresh, seasonal dishes.
The good news is 2nd street festival is here once again. The bad news is that always means summer is drawing to a close… But lets focus on the GOOD! We’ll have a triple tent setup with three convenient lines: food, food and drinks and just drinks. Our giant will be rolling in full force manned our exectutive chef Carolynn Angle who will personally be slinging Baby Back Ribs, Grilled Chicken Po Boys, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and Mexican (or plain) Corn on the Cob. We’ll be pouring Blueberry Mint Lemonade (virgin or spiked) as well as Yards Philly Pale Ale, Yards Pynk, Stoudt’s Hefeweizen, and Flying Fish Farmhouse straight out of our streetside beer trailer. If you’re not in the mood to brave the line outside, just present your wristband to either of the bars in the Tap and they’ll set you up with a drink in a cup that you can take outside! Can’t wait! Join us for the second annual celebration of swine, PORK OF JULY! From Friday July 4th through Sunday July 6th our dinner and brunch menus will feature pork chops, ribs, belly and more. We plan to pour a nice variety of “BBQ friendly” pale ales to complement the pork feast as well. Pork of July tee shirts will be available as well. See you at the Tap!
While Dogfish Head is well-known for brewing “off-centered” ales, there is one old-world style they’ve embraced: IPA. On March 26th the Dogfish Head touring celebration of their IPA catalog descends upon Standard Tap. We plan to greet AHopEclipseNow with a hearty menu of hop-friendly food, tasting flights, Dogfish Head swag, as well as a specialty Dogfish Head beer-cocktail. There will be two seatings at 6 and 8 pm with a la carte beer and food. We’ll set up some suggested tasting flights such as the Around the Clock IPA flight featuring 60 Minute, 61 Minute, 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs. Everyone who makes a reservation gets a ceramic Dogfish Head coaster as well as one of their signature IPA glasses. Make a reservation at above, seats are going fast!
Wake up to Big Wood at Standard Tap’s Big Wood Weekend! We’ll be pouring a wide array of barrel aged and smoked beers from Saturday March 8th through Sunday the 9th. On Saturday we’ll be a stop along the route of the Craft Beer Express and on Sunday Big Wood will push from Brunch until close. This year we’ve decided to throw our first annual Bone-In-Brunch! The menu will feature chops, shanks and all other sorts of bone-in meat treats! We expect to fill up very quickly so be sure to secure your reservation with the link above.
