When Standard Tap opened its doors in December 1999, our goal was simple: to create a neighborhood tavern that featured great beer and wholesome food. With that in mind, we offer a draft-only beer selection that highlights the vast array of styles crafted by breweries located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Our food menu both complements the beer and expands the notion of what pub food can be. We use only the best available produce, poultry, meats and seafood — much of it from area farms and local vendors – to create fresh, seasonal dishes.

ZAGAT’s 24 Must-Visit Craft Beer Destinations Around the U.S.
March 21st, 2013“It’s all local, all the time at William Reed and Paul Kimport’s Northern Liberties original. On two floors throughout multiple wood-filled rooms, 20 taps pour a rotating selection of the best area brews, and everything’s as fresh as can be, since there are no bottles offered. Opened in 1999, credit this spot with defining what a gastropub could and should be. For good local beer alongside good local music, visit the partners’ Johnny Brenda’s, just up the street in Fishtown.” posted on Zagat.com 3/20/2013
